New Moon

It's basically the plot from Bugs Life wrapped around a Star Wars style universe. Then it quickly becomes another Zak Snyder confusing mishmash. Weirdly though, I will watch part 2 when it comes out as it does look visually striking 3/5.  

Gravity (2013)

OK, so it's good but not groundbreaking. It doesn't really represent anything and shows us just how good 2001 Space Oddysey is. Great visuals though. 3/5

Jerry Maguire (1996)

Watched this on the plane.  Not sure why.  I guess I tried to remember why everyone loved it so much.  Apart from the "show me the money" quote it's just a tedious love story.  Chicks dig it, I don't.  Apart from the Springsteen soundtrack. 3/5

White House Down (2013)

What a crock of shit.  This homage to Obama sucks American ass.  It's so patriotic it hurts.  And the ending...oh my days. 2/5

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)

Billed as the new Forest Gump however it's not in the same league.  I love the quirky moments where Ben Stiller day dreams then crashes to reality but it's over done.  The scale of the story is great, it's a feel good film but let down by no actual real conclusion.  3/5

Escape Plan (2013)

Old school action that Stallone does best.  So what if he's old, he still rocks the big screen.  And of course, Arnie is in it.  So just go with it and enjoy it.  I did.  Even though I know I shouldn't. 4/5

American Hustle (2013)

Very authentic and reminded me of Boogie Nights in terms of look and feel.  Excellent acting, Christian Bale is unrecognisable and that girl from Catch Me If You Can is all grown up.  I expected more from the ending, I was hoping for a Guy Ritchie/Tarantino-eqsue finale, but still a good film.4/5
