Ben Affleck in front and behind the camera in this clever bank robbery drama.slow in parts and not the ending I hoped for but still very good.4/5

The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010)

Comic adventure starring a very lack luster Nicolas Cage, despite this the film is still largely entertaining and makes for great Saturday evening family affair.  Pirates it isn't but worth a watch. 3/5

Machete (2010)

Classic old school Rodriguez with his faithful cast in action. Not as polished as it should be and trails off in the last half.3/5

Funny cop caper comedy, underplayed by Will Ferrell. Very funny throughout just let down slightly by its weak central plot.3/5

Completely unique and zany computer game style film.Brilliantly executed.It is however a little long and repeats its formula too many times during the film.4/5

Wall Street 2: Money never sleeps (2010)

Oliver Stones sequel to his 80s classic fails miserably.It's arguably one of the most boring films I have ever watched.1/5

Classic Dreamworks animation.Cutting edge technology. Great script and amazing story with one of the greatest musical scores ever written by Hans Zimmer and Bryan Adams.5/5

Piranha (2010)

Everything you knew it would be. Bikinis, prehistoric fish, awful acting. Absolutely terrible but for some reason I didn't turn it off.1/5

Looking for Eric (2009)

Heartfelt and gritty black comedy. Typically British and brilliantly acted. In parts it's genius. And of course Cantona is in it.4/5

The Killer Inside Me (2010)

Disturbingly violent and very bleak sadist art house flick with a few Hollywood stars. Not my cup of tea.2/5

Tries too hard to be funny and some of the gags are hit and miss but the ones that hit really deliver. I liked it 3/5

Juno (2007)

Great script and intentionally dry lead performances make this film both quirky and funny.  It is however massively over-hyped and let down by the flat ending which stop it being great.  4/5

The Expendables (2010)

An impressive cast list doesn't make up for this poor screenplay.Takes itself too seriously and fails in doing so. Statham however shines! 2/5

Blood Work (2002)

Slow and predictable. No music, only drawn out performances and wooden acting. Horrendous.1/5

Tekken (2010)

Fans of the game with love it,far better than Street Fighter.Well made and follows the game closely but unless you are familiar with Tekken you will hate it.2/5

Rushed sequel that has none of the charm of the first. Feels flat and rushed and void of any script writing talent.2/5

Robin Hood (2010)

Pointless film that has nothing to do with the legend. Weak plot, slow moving, terrible accents. Makes Kevin Costner look like a genius.2/5

Unique and brilliant dream thriller that should have been genre defining but isn't and although it's amazing it's not without its faults.4/5

National Treasure:Book of Secrets (2007)

Half decent sequel that extends the shelf life of the franchise, over the top in parts and good fun but not as good as the first.3/5

Changeling (2008)

Powerful performances nail this almost perfect 1930s drama. The long running time however stops it getting full marks. 4/5.

Ed Norton plays an 18th Century Derren Brown. Intriguing and slow I'm parts but the ending makes up for it.4/5.

Paying homage to 2001 Space Odyssey and Solaris, slow moving but engaging enough if a little confusing. 3/5

Karate Kid for grown ups. Typical late 80s action, all that's missing is Van Damme. 3/5

Upsetting and disturbing drama/thriller with good performances. Low budget and virtually unknown film but it's really quite good.3/5

Mad Max 3 Beyond the Thunderdome (1985)

Max turns cage fighter? Tina Turner? Midget pig farmers? WTF? The weakest instalment in the trilogy. 2/5

I usually like spoof films but this is terrible. There are a few funny stand alone moments but not enough to stop this only receiving 2/5.

Stir Of Echoes (1999)

Creepy in parts with some scary scenes.  Over shadowed by Sixth Sense which came out at the same time but still very watchable.  Kevin Bacon plays his part well but there's little originality here. 3/5

Bunny and The Bull (2009)

As a Mighty Boosh fan I should have loved it.  But this isn't Mighty Boosh and you can tell. Really disappointing. 2/5

The Crazies (2010)

Local town folk go crazy after drinking the water.  I went crazy watching it.  Just terrible. 1/5

It feels like Robocop meets Total Recall meets Running Man set in a futuristic prison, I actually like this film, the ideas are great. It looks cheesy now but it still plays out quite well. 3/5

Robert Downey Jnr steals the show in this back-to-form Guy Ritchie movie. Very original and intriguing but not as well scripted as we'd hoped. Good but not great. 3/5

Van Wilder helps Blade kill Link from Prison Break.Good set pieces but weak story. 2/5

Passenger 57 (1992)

There's something about his film that makes it watchable even though deep down I know its terrible. Poor acting, stereotypical bad guys and a uninspired plot, seemed a lot better back 1992 but I do secretly like it. 2/5

Happy Gilmore (1996)

One of my favourite all-time comedies. Even non Adam Sandler fans must admit this is funny.Great gags and memorable quotes make this a must see. 5/5

Surrogates(2009)

A.I meets I-Robot with a shot of Avatar = Really awful film. Unoriginal,slow and lifeless.2/5

Inside Man (2006)

Excellent thriller based around a highly polished bank robbery. A solid cast and a great twist makes this a must see. Highly enjoyable. 4/5

Edge of Darkness (2010)

Deeply dark and confusing rain soaked murder investigation starts great then trails off. Mel Gibson tries hard but the script is weak and the concept is dull and unoriginal. 2/5.

The Princess and the Frog (2009)

Disney's new hand drawn feature follows Walt's conventions but this outing is typically predictable and average.3/5

Raging Bull (1980)

Stylishly shot and very real. Confusing sub plots spoil the momentum. I prefer Rocky.4/5

Reservoir Dogs (1992)

Tarantino's jewellery heist début lives up to the hype and is very iconic.Maybe not as slick as it's made out and isn't ageing as well as we'd hoped but still very slick and influential. 4/5

Gladiator (2000)

This film is an epic. Amazing acting,story,visuals and soundtrack.It's long but it's close to perfection. 5/5

Daybreakers (2009)

Dark futuristic vampire tale with some good ideas.Slow in parts but generally quite watchable and a decent ending.3/5

Predator (1987)

One of the best action movies of the 80s.Arnie at the height of his career takes on an iconic sci fi monster.Awesome.4/5

Precious (2009)

Overweight abused teen turns her life around in a new school.Great performances,surreal scenes,award worthy just not my thing. 3/5

Tenderness (2009)

A non-descript Russel Crowe apparently stars in this awful story of a cop following a young offender and a crazed teen. Awful. 1/5

S.W.A.T (2003)

Promising action flick that looses its cool in the second half. Sub plot is enough to keep it moving but we've seen it all before. 3/5

The Score (2001)

Edgy thriller with a great cast (De Niro, Ed Norton, Brando) and a great twist.Too slow in places and an awful repetitious soundtrack. 3/5

Speed (1994)

Awesome 90's action film about a bomb on a bus.Cheesy in parts,explosive in others, fast paced non-stop action.A true blockbuster.5/5

Road House (1989)

Classic action B movie which shows Swayze can do more than dance.Take it for what it is and you'll be amazed at how good it actually is. 4/5

The Lovely Bones (2010)

Depressing but in parts brilliant tale of murder and the afterlife.Emotionally driven CGI and a solid cast but plot loses focus in places. 3/5.

Fantastic Mr Fox (2009)

Fun stop motion,star studded adaptation of a classic book.looks great but doesn't deliver as it should. 3/5

The Fourth Kind (2009)

Flimsy hypnotherapy-based horror about alien abductions starring "Leeloo" from The Fifth Element with "fake authentic footage". Awful 1/5

The Road (2009)

Bleak survival tale set in a post apocalyptic world.Good performances but very depressing and tires quite quickly. 3/5

Harry Brown (2009)

Gritty realistic reflection of modern day crime infested Britain. Michael Caine is fantastic as the OAP vigilante. Worth a watch 3/5

Heat (1995)

Great script, amazing actors.  Al Pacino is fantastic, De Niro plays it cool. Action, suspense & thrills. Classic. 5/5

Where the Wild Things Are (2009)

Love the book, hate the film. Confusing story, slow pace, hairy monsters and an annoying child. Not much point to this film.  Awful. 1/5 

The Box (2009)

Terrible film about Cameron Diaz's box.  Set in the 70's.  Terrible acting, out-dated sfx and a dodgy sci-fi style ending.  Rubbish. 1/5

Avatar (2010)

Breathtaking visuals, a near perfect 3D experience, explosive battles and a script that pulls it all together. Awesome. 5/5
